Presenting the methods of * theatre of the oppressed*to the theatre student, which contain new theatrical presentation methods, like the method of the forum theatre, Invisible theatre, which can be used both in the academic sphere and in the process of social change.
Forum Theatre
Forum theatre is a theatrical form in which a problem is shown in an unsolved form, to which the audience, spect-actor, is invited to suggest and enact solutions; both actor and spect- actor will be people who are victims of the oppression under consideration; that is why they are able to offer alternative solutions, because they themselves are personally acquainted with the oppression. After one showing of the scene, which is known as the *model*, it is shown again slightly speeded up, and follows exactly the same course until a member of the audience Shouts “stop”,
takes the place of the protagonist and tries to defeat the Oppression*. The spect-actor is invited to replace this protagonist and act out, , all possible solutions, ideas, strategies, on stage.
And the other actors improvise the reactions of their characters, facing each new intervention, so as to allow a sincere analysis of the real possibility of using those suggestions in real life, all spect-actors have the same right to intervene and play out their ideas.
Forum theatre is a rehearsal for reality (Boal)
*Educate and train the theatre student in a series of trainings in device methods. The aim of these trainings is to liberate the student from the written text and to be more dependent on physicality as base for work and as an important element in the theatrical process- aesthethic perspective |
